Abstracts

Abstract Submission is now closed

The organising committee of 4th ISDSC 2008 invites individuals involved in deep sea coral research to submit an abstract under the appropriate symposium theme for consideration as an oral or poster presentation.  Abstracts must be submitted electronically using the link provided and following the detailed submission instructions below.  Thematic topic co-convenors will decide which abstracts will be presented orally and those by poster.  Presenters will be notified of the co-convenors decision after abstract submission has closed.  All abstracts, both oral and poster, will be published in the symposium book of abstracts.

Instructions for Presenters

Presenters must be registered for the symposium. We request that presenters limit their submissions to one abstract for oral consideration each. Registrants may be co-authors on additional oral abstracts but not present them. Registrants may elect to submit further abstracts for poster(s) presentations. Please prepare abstracts before using the online abstract submission process.

Detailed instructions for both oral and poster presentations will be will be posted on this URL soon.  Once theme convenor selections are finalised they will also be emailed out to presenters.

How to prepare your abstract:

  • Authors should use the abstract template provided here.
  • Prepare abstracts using Microsoft Word with the following specifications: fit on one A4 page with 3cm margins all round; 12pt Times New Roman; single spaced; no indents, page numbers or footnotes; blank line between title, author info, body and all paragraphs. Line 1=title in bold caps, Line 2=blank, Line 3= author names in bold lowercase with presenter underlined, Lines 4- =author addresses one per line finishing with one email contact address. Next line=blank, followed by abstract body. Title, authors and addresses centred, abstract body flush left and right.

Submitting your abstract:

All abstracts must be submitted electronically through this website.

  1. Download the abstract template.
  2. Write your abstract and save it onto your computer as a Microsoft Word file.
  3. Submit your abstract on line.

Confirmation:

When you submit your abstract, a confirmation email will be sent to you.  If you do not receive it within 5 minutes, please check it's not gone into your Junk or Spam box, then email us: louise@confer.co.nz

Symposium Proceedings:

Contributors are encouraged to submit a paper to the proceedings of the symposium.  Manuscript preparation and submission deadline details will be posted on this URL soon.  Further details will be given to all symposium participants during the symposium.
